Meredith Darrow is one of the most highly regarded and sought after art advisors working today. She has over 15 years of experience working with collectors, artists, galleries and institutions and over that time has been at the forefront of the increasingly complex and valued contemporary art market.
Meredith has worked with a number of globally recognized collections and is known as a highly influential taste-maker and market shaper. Perhaps most notable among the public collections she advises is the Miami-based de la Cruz collection which she has been advising for the past seven years. This world renowned collection highlights a number of the artists whose markets Meredith has helped to shape and develop, including Rudolf Stingel, Christopher Wool, Wade Guyton, Dan Colen, Sigmar Polke, Mark Grotjahn, Albert Oehlen, Sterling Ruby, Seth Price, Tauba Auerbach and many others.
In addition, Meredith works with a number of new and established private collectors of contemporary art to develop and refine world class collections of art that speak to their owners’ tastes and lifestyles. Her deep connections in the realm of contemporary art allow her privileged access to new and secondary market works as well as market intelligence.
Meredith graduated from Columbia University with a Fine Arts Degree. Prior to founding Darrow Contemporary in 2009, Meredith held a number of key roles at influential New York galleries, including the senior sales positions at Daniel Reich Gallery, Friedrich Petzel Gallery and Bortolami Gallery.
Benjamin Godsill is a leading authority in the realm of late 20th and early 21st Century art and is a global taste maker who has been responsible for assembling some of the most notable public and private collections of important emerging art globally.
At Darrow Contemporary Benjamin works with individual clients on acquisitions and strategy with an eye towards building world-class collections that will prove their import and value over the long term. Previously, Benjamin was a Senior Specialist in Contemporary Art at the Phillips auction house where he oversaw the buying and selling of over 25 million dollars worth of art annually. While at Phillips he was responsible for achieving world record prices for artists including Nate Lowman, Ai WeiWei, and Tauba Auerbach, among others. From 2006-2012 Benjamin held various curatorial roles at New York’s New Museum.
Benjamin’s market savvy curatorial insights have been featured in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and Bloomberg among other publications. He was named to Art and Auction’s Power List as a “game changer” for 2014.
As a curator Benjamin has organized projects in locations as bizarre and beautiful as Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia; Citta della Pieve, Italy; and London, England as well as New York and Los Angeles. He has been the first to exhibit a number of artists whom have gone on to earn significant curatorial attention and market accolades.
Bridgette Toraason is our Chief Operating Officer and, as such, looks after the day to day operations of Darrow Contemporary as they relate to our clients’ shipping needs, accounting, and drafting of contracts. She also oversees and advises on complex tax related matters and contributes to the long term growth and organizational strategy of the business. Bridgette graduated with a dual JD/MBA degree from the University of Southern California and holds a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles, which she obtained with honors in 2007.
Samantha Eddo is Darrow Contemporary’s Administrative Assistant and keeps us all organized. A Los Angeles native, Samantha graduated from the University of California Los Angeles with a degree in Communication studies in 2015.
